Western Zone HOD and Annual Business Meeting

Coaches, Officials, Parents, and Swimmers:

 USAS is having their annual Workshop in Denver Sept. 26 - 29 2024. On Saturday Sept 28th there will be a Western Zone Business Meeting - Time 10:00AM location TBD. The Meeting will be live in Denver and available via ZOOM.

Each LSC may nominate 5 voting delegates to the WZ Business Meeting 1 must be an athlete, otherwise 4 votes are allowed - Snake River has already selected their voting delegates per our By-Laws. All voting will be done via Election Runner either in person or on Zoom, no ballots will be collected at the HOD Meeting. Each delegate will be sent a login code for the Meeting.

Meet Bids:

We will be voting on several Meet Bids for the coming years. Trying to get meets on a quad schedule.   Any questions or to discuss submitting a bid send to:  Western Zone Championship Coordinator Ryan Stratton: ryan@strattoncpa.com

Admin Procedures: Last year we had a long discussion when the Zone by-laws and Operating Procedures were combined into a single Admin Procedure Document; as dictated by USAS.  This year we have some suggested clarifications/updates for the LSCs to approve via a vote.  The BOD is recommending the LSCs review the red-lined document HERE – “WZ Administrative Procedures Proposed Updates”.  We intend to have consent vote on at the HOD Meeting. An updated explanation of each proposed changes and can be found HERE. Also attached below.

Elections:

There are 2 Positions open for election in the Western Zone

Secretary Treasure: Lisa Vetterlein (SI) is the incumbent and is seeking re-election

Coach Director: Keith Moore (SC) is the incumbent and has termed out –

Michael Kinross, coach from the Sandpipers Swim Club, has been nominated.

Jody Broyles, coach from the Idaho Vandals, has been nominated.
