SRS Officials Chairman Nomination

To All SRS Officials,

Under Snake River Swimming's Standing Rules, nominations are now open for the position of Officials Chair. The candidate must be a USA Swimming certified Meet Referee in order to apply and someone who has interest and passion to lead the continued growth of the SRS Officials community. Applications will be accepted from August 29th, 2025 until September 12th, 2025 before 9:00 p.m. (Mountain Time). Qualified candidates bios will be released to all SRS officials. Voting by officials only will take place from September 15th to September 20th, 2025. Results will be announced and officially approved at the Fall House of Delegate. This 2 year term begins on January 1, 2026. Selected new Official Chair should appoint a Vice Officials Chair to help and support either the East or West side of the region for SRS officials.

Here is the detailed requirement and responsibilities for SRS Official Chair position:-

1. Must be a certified meet referee and is elected by the House of Delegates and shall be in charge of the officiating program of Snake River Swimming.

2. Duties of the Officials Chair include:

a. implement and maintain a program for recruiting, training, and certifying officials in the LSC

b. act as the liaison with the National Officials Committee and Rules Committee for clarification of rules

c. stay current on rule changes for the National level and make sure they are communicated to all LSC officials on a timely basis

d. prepare the annual officials’ budget for submittal to the LSC Finance Committee.

e. chair the LSC Officials Subcommittee

f. oversee the LSC’s National Certifications meets and monitor LSC Championship officials

g. ensure consistency in meet procedures and rules interpretations

h. establish and enforce officials’ uniform requirements

i. encourage cooperation with all swimming in the LSC, including high school, college, YMCA, and masters
